Dog Walkers, Dog Walking, Dog Boardingv

A walk with one of the Dogfather team guarantees you and your dog(s ) value for money. The dogs are picked up every morning or lunchtime and driven to Richmond or Wimbledon for a ‘proper walk’. We let the dogs jump straight out of the car and into open space well away from busy roads. All dogs are walked off the lead unless you instruct us otherwise. We ramble across countryside taking a variety of different routes… past bracken and heather, through the undergrowth, and long grass, along the river (the dogs LOVE this in the summer months....and it’s clean!), through the woods (perfect for squirrel chasing!....). This walking experience is far more exciting and stimulating for your dog than just running them around the nearest local common, which your dog may well be over familiar with.
We have a huge passion for walking dogs in the great outdoors, which is why we go the extra mile(s). Walking at a brisk pace for an hour guarantees that your dog will benefit from decent exercise and plenty of socialising. Some dogs walk close by our side (usually those with shorter legs), others will be busy picking up scents in the grass and bushes (we’re watching you, spaniels!) and the rest will be enjoying the freedom of playing and chasing one another/exploring the wild open space. Unlike some “dog walkers” You will not never see us standing or sitting around, drinking a cappuccino in the same spot for an hour while the dogs hang around their feet. And you will never see us unloading van after van of dogs into the same field/day centre every day). We are ‘proper’, professional dog walkers and proud of it. We work in all conditions, come rain or shine (we love the snow as well...as do the dogs!).
The maximum number of dogs we walk is 6 at a time. This is the ideal number to ensure safety and individual attention, as well as being a decent sized pack with enough variety and stimulation for the dogs. We match dogs with suitable pack mates ensuring that they get the most out of their walks. All the dogs quickly become very good friends and they really look forward to seeing each other every day. It is lovely to see!
Your dog will be supervised at all times and we make sure that dogs do not become too over- excited, or pick up bad habits.
The Dogfather provides a personal service and each dog is cared for as an individual. We let our clients know where we have been walking, and provide regular updates and feedback on your dog’s outings using photos and videos posted weekly on the DogfatherLondon Facebook Page......please take a look to see for yourself how much fun our dogs have!
Dogs are transported in the back of an air conditioned 4X4. The journey to and from the walk is part of the fun for them and they like to be able to look out of the windows and see what’s going on. We also like to be in close contact with our canine passengers so we can communicate with them during the journey. This is why we do not transport them inside crates in the back of a van. During the summer months we carry water and make sure the dogs have plenty to drink. We also endeavour to fill up water bowls on returning your dog home - all year round.
The Dogfather and team are insured by PBI (Pet Business Insurance) and CIB checked.
